Michael Steele, CPA is a native of Trenton, Tennessee, and honors graduate of Abilene Christian University. After working for an international accounting firm in Dallas, Texas, Michael moved his family to Jackson, Tennessee and joined a local firm. In 1979, Michael founded the firm which is now Steele Martin Jones and Company, PLC. Michael has served in leadership roles in several civic and professional organizations. In 1995, Michael received a senatorial delegate appointment to the White House Conference on Small Business. Under his leadership, the firm has received numerous awards and recognitions including the prestigious Pinnacle Awards presented by the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce.

Joining the firm as a partner in 1982, Gary Martin, CPA built upon his 12 years in the military and banking to help grow a successful CPA firm. He graduated from Harding University in his hometown of Searcy, AR, in 1970. Gary serves on the board of directors of a local bank and the board of several local Christian organizations, including Jackson Christian School. Gary presently serves as the firm’s managing partner.

After graduating from East TN State University in 1980, Tom Carson Jones, CPA worked for a national CPA firm in East Tennessee for six years. Tom changed careers to own and operate two TCBY Yogurt franchised stores (Jackson and Dyersburg) until 1994. At that time he returned to accounting with our firm and was named a partner of STEELE MARTIN JONES & COMPANY, PLC, in 1999.

Sandy graduated from Lambuth University with a BBA in 2008. She coordinates the day-to-day operations, as well as supports the business development efforts of the firm. She joined the firm in November of 2008 with over 15 years of management and marketing experience.

Ben Horne, Information Technology
Ben Horne is currently a student at Union University majoring in Computer Science and Business Administration: Management. Ben has two years of IT and Network training from The Vangaurd-Sentinel Career Center in Fremont Ohio. This training includes CCNA, A+, Server+, IT essentials, Fiber Optics, and more. Ben is a memeber of Union University's programming team and a member of the Association for Computing Machinery.
